Chef Stephanie Izard brought her award-winning talents to the University of Notre Dame in May 2023 as part of the Experience Notre Dame Visiting Chef Series.

Izard is known for winning Bravo’s Top Chef and the Food Network’s Iron Chef titles, as well as her restaurants in Chicago—Girl & the Goat, Duck Duck Goat, and Cabra—along with Girl & the Goat and Cabra in Los Angeles.

Izard joined students and members of the Notre Dame campus community in North Dining Hall for a This Little Goat product giveaway and cooking demonstration. As Izard visited campus on May the 4th, she added a Star Wars touch to her demonstration with large Notre Dame themed ice sculptures of R2D2 and Yoda.

Following the demonstration, Izard was interviewed on the topic of “Tech and the Restaurant Industry” in Carey Auditorium by Chef Erling Wu-Bower ’05 and Seth VanderLaan, Director of Culinary. She discussed the current state of the restaurant industry and what she sees as its future, as well as how tech can be incorporated into the front- and back-of-house operations.
