You might know her as a wedding and special event photographer. Now, Katie Whitcomb is joining the Experience Notre Dame team, and sharing her wedding and event expertise with brides, their families, and campus event planners. We sat down with Katie who shared a little bit about her favorite hidden gems on campus, her coffee order, and more.
- What’s your favorite location on campus?
I love God Quad, especially in the fall. If I ever forget how cool it is to be able to experience campus as often as I do, I am guaranteed to see someone in awe of the Dome or the Basilica and it reminds me of how proud I am to be a part of that. - Why are you excited to join the Experience Notre Dame team?
I've been a campus partner for 14 years and have loved everyone I've come into contact with. Notre Dame has been a big part of my career in multiple capacities and I can't wait to serve the community in this new role. -
Do you have a “hidden gem” spot on campus that you love?
I am always looking for hidden gems on campus. I love architecture so I'm always looking for different ways to see arches and foliage. Wherever the light is great, that's where I want to be. -
What’s your Cafe J order?
For someone who prefers their coffee black, I love their seasonal drinks. I especially love the iced lavender latte. -
Who inspires you?
I'm inspired by many people, but innovation truly inspires me the most. I mean, have you ever thought about the first person to think about underwater basket weaving? That kind of innovation is truly inspiring.
